Every once in a while, our expectations turn out to be wrong and we end up feeling very pleasantly surprised. This title is a great example. I'm generally not a fan of games like this where you find cards, put them into your team, and just watch them fight without any real player input. This development team has taken this outdated genre and has brought into the 21st century. I'm so impressed with every component of the game. The graphics are amazing, the characters are humorous and deep enough that you actually care about them. Although the game play doesn't require a great deal of strategy, it does take some thought, and its a lot of fun. Is it best game of 2019? No, of course not.
