The player can choose from 6 playable characters, each with their own individual characteristics and style. The more reserved role-player might prefer the Battle Mage or the Wood Elf, while admirers of traditional fantasy characters can take on the role of the Gladiator or Dark Elf. If the player fancies a different approach then the Seraphim, a follower of the mystical Angels, or the bloodthirsty Vampiress might clench their thirst. English Version of Shenmue Complete!
There no source more reliable than the man himself. Yu Suzuki updated the official Shenmue web site today with the news that development of the domestic version of Shenmue has been completed. Suzuki states that all the translation staff did an excellent job, and he feels the game is now ready for release. As far as the voices go, Suzuki oversaw every step of this process and feels it is at a high enough level to give the go-ahead for publishing. He says that the US version's translation holds true to the original Japanese dialog, so the story of ShenMue will not be compromised at all.
