游戏沿用传统的赛车竞速玩法，各种类型的车辆在曲折多变的赛道上进行速度竞技。
由于《极速俱乐部》采用的是自动加速，玩家只需左右倾斜手机便可控制赛车的方向移动，操作可谓十分简单。当然游戏中还有大量的车辆整备，玩家可以用各种零件调整自己的爱车。本作中你能体验到前所未有的感觉。首先，赛车出发时不再安排顺位并且途中超车时也无需在考虑其他车辆的碰撞体积，确切的说玩家所在的这条赛道上只有你自己的一辆跑车，而其他车辆则是以“幽灵”的形式出现。其次作为游戏的一大特色，本作突出了“CLUB”这个概念，所有的交流和改装车辆都会在俱乐部内完成，并且有专门的助手辅助玩家，非常方便。游戏主打飙车的快感与刺激，同时玩家还可以根据自己的喜好随意改装车辆以达到更好的速度体验。由于采用自动加速设定，玩家只需根据重力左右倾斜手机便可控制赛车的行驶方向，简化了游戏操作。此外，赛车升级也是一项重要游戏内容，玩家可以用各种零部件升级调整爱车，从而赢得比赛！
